The Prunotto Mariangela organic Red Pesto is a ready-to-use sauce made with carefully selected tomatoes dried in the sun.

It has an intense, delicious flavour.

‘Pesto’ is an Italian word that translates ‘crushed’, and the recipe can be used to crush different kinds of vegetables (not only basil!).

The organic Red Pesto is a versatile sauce that can be put to many uses:

• It is an excellent pasta sauce. To use it with pasta, dilute it with a little of the water used to cook the pasta; then pour it on the drained pasta and mix well. It will take 2 or 3 teaspoons of pesto per person. If desired, add a drizzle of raw extra virgin olive oil.
• It is great also to prepare delicious croutons – spread it on toasted bread for a tasty appetizer – and paired with roast beef.
